We are very happy to announce our official support for a iodéOS Generic System Image (GSI)!
In 2020, we started the project using the Sony Xperia XZ1 as our first supported device. In four years, we have gone a long road from 1 to over 40 supported phones and tablets. Indeed throughout the years we have received many enquiries from users to add support for more devices in order for them to protect all family members. But supporting a new device comes at a human cost. As it is in our core values to maintain all our devices for as long as possible and not to follow the model of the majority of manufacturers that only maintain devices for a couple of years, it also implies more work for our development team that spends hours keeping iodéOS up-to-date on a monthly-basis on each device. Thus we are very cautious into adding support for a specific device.
That’s why we recently decided to add support for a GSI! The iodéOS GSI will allow you to install iodéOS on many more devices that we currently don’t support. So if your device was originally shipped with Android Oreo (8) or greater version, and is not specifically supported, try installing our GSI available here, and make sure to give your feedbacks here!
Thank you all for your support and your trust in iodé since the beginning of our journey, and keep your data safe with iodé.
